Home visits

SOS Médecins Capbreton provides home visits by appointment,
every day, including nights.

We’re available 24/7 at +33 5 58 70 07 79.

Need a doctor at home? SOS Médecins Capbreton is here for you.
If your regular GP is unavailable, you or a relative can request a home visit, 24/7. Healthcare professionals (such as the local emergency center or your GP) and care facilities (like retirement homes or nursing homes) can also request a visit, depending on the urgency.

We cover 11 towns in the southern Landes area:
Angresse, Bénesse-Maremne, Capbreton, Labenne, Orx, Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse, Saubion, Saubrigues, Seignosse, Soorts-Hossegor, and Tosse.

Call us any time at +33 5 58 70 07 79.
Please note: we cannot give an exact visit time in advance. Our doctors respond as quickly as possible depending on the number of calls and level of urgency.

Home visits are for patients who cannot travel: elderly individuals, those with limited mobility, or anyone requiring care at home.
For children, we recommend visiting our clinic (open weekdays 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday mornings). A legal guardian must be present for any consultation involving a minor.

Preparing for a Home Visit

To help SOS Médecins Capbreton intervene quickly and efficiently, please follow these simple recommendations:

1.Before you call

To save time and allow us to assess the situation properly, please have the following information ready:

  • Reason for the call: pain, fever, discomfort, specific symptoms, etc.
  • Patient’s identity: full name and age (essential for medical triage).
  • Your contact details: mobile phone number and landline (if available).
  • Full address of the visit location: include all useful details (entry code, building, floor, door number, etc.).

2.While waiting for the doctor: gather useful documents

To ensure a smooth and effective consultation, please have the following documents ready:

  • Recent medical documents: current prescriptions, lab results, ECGs, hospital reports, etc.
  • Administrative documents: French health insurance card (Carte Vitale) and/or certificate, and private insurance card if applicable.
  • Patient’s medical records: health booklet, care files, ongoing treatment protocols, etc.

3.Stay reachable

  • Keep your phone close at hand – the doctor or our team may need to contact you before arrival.
  • If you gave a landline number, please keep it free.
  • Stay at home – unless there’s an emergency, it’s important that the patient or a representative is present. If plans change, please notify us as soon as possible.

4.For hygiene and safety

Please keep pets away from the room where the consultation will take place. This helps avoid any stress or disruption during the visit, for both the patient and the doctor.

Fees & Payment Options

All SOS Médecins Capbreton doctors are equipped with portable health card readers (Carte Vitale) and accept credit/debit cards, checks, and cash.

We are part of the Sector 1 healthcare agreement, which means we apply standard national rates set by French Health Insurance, with no additional charges or hidden fees.

Patients covered by Complémentaire Santé Solidaire (CSS, formerly CMU) or State Medical Aid (AME) are fully covered — no out-of-pocket costs.

To benefit from direct billing (no upfront payment), especially if you don’t have your health card with you, it’s essential to provide a valid CSS or AME certificate issued by your French health insurance provider.
